as title Yes

local to me is an uber cheap 2006 VXR in black. F.S.H, proven 265bhp, recent dual mass and clutch fitted, running on 19s which need a refurb and in black.

basically it needs a bit of t.l.c (wheels and a bit of bodywork)

also h.p.i clear

worth it at under 5K Dunno

Got 2 mates with these and their nice cars, comfortable good noise big pops and bangs if De-catted and go pretty well. They shred front tyres and apparently kill gearboxes quite early as both had theirs changed under warranty. They torque steer like a b**ch though. And my mates one that has big forge fmic and full miltec exhaust and decats can't keep up with my 6 at top end but a bit quicker lower down because of torque.

Deffo find out if its had a turbo, another bargaining toolWink not too expensive or hard to swap, circa £500 for a brand new unitThumbs up

We have had a new gearbox under warranty in the Corsa VXR,done just over 30kRoll eyes

Listen out for whining noises from the diff, the bearings give up.There are no parts available either for the gearbox from Vaux, they only list a complete unit at £1800Shock

What boils my p**s is that people used to slate Rover for this with the TorSen type A diff that was in the 220/420 Turbos, as the diff journal was poorly designed by Torsen and shears at the bearing radius. A quick design change to the type B and it never had a problem again. Vauxhall do a s**t job and it's ok, people still bum them cos dem vxr Corsas be sik blud innit. Go figure.

I find them dull and uninteresting to drive, no matter how many Halfords parts they attached to the body. The Mk 6 Astra was better but still rather bland. I think you'd be better sticking with the Rallye and TLCing that personally. Smile

I'm sure they're great cars but I just don't like the look of them. As long as you're happy that's all that matters and for £5k that sounds like a good buy.

tis a bloody vauxhaul for a start but my sister in law had one, it done less than 20k and had 2 fuel pumps, a turbo, the l/h skirk blistered coz the exhaust fell so then screwed the skirt. In the end she took it back and bought a fiesta st instead!!also it torque steers like a cnut the brakes are rubbish for a "performance" car and it doesnt really handle and it aint that quick. But it is nice inside and has a nice stance too.

I really like the looks and sound (especially the nurburgring edition) but too much of a blunt instrument for me, scrabbles for grip when pushed hard, understeers if getting on the power 1% too early, gearshift uninspiring, steering direct but lacking in feel. Better on the road than on the track.

Probably all curable issues with aftermarket mods except for steering feel.
