Right, just went to two motor factors asking about getting the ring that sits on the driveshaft securing the outer head, as mine has snapped in two.
Since I am struggling to get hold of this I came up with an idea and wanted to run it by you guys.

Would I be able to cut down and modify a keyring that is the same diameter to fit?

errrrrrrHmm Well. It isn't going to rust Big grin

To do the job intended it's got to be able to compress slightly and have the same spring value to keep the shaft in.

If it were me, I'd consider it. Check the thickness with a set of calipers, as you dont wanna push it in and find it's stuck Cry

If you get the right length, thickness and shape, then I guess you could.

Weird question though. +1 for that.

They think you mean the R clip which goes through the end of the shaft to keep the nut from working loose.

Right, well i went there in the end, they have the C shaped clip but.... i'd have to buy the kit which costs a lovely £38 which; for just a clips purpose is silly. I'm going to try this keyring method and see whether it works.

Unsure I didn't spot your post buddy, i was using my iPHone to post on the forum at the time.
Thanks for searching though buddy Smile I'm sorry i didn't use it, but it is really really appreciated.

I've now fitted it all after using the keyring. i made sure it was spot on with the old one; which worked and saved some money in the process!
