Hi all, my fans have packed up. The a.c. don't work and neither do the fans. Any ideas?
Relay? If so.. which one is it?

Is it the complete operation of the fans?

With the ignition switched on to the second click, unplug the brown sensor and see what happens. You should get both fans spin half speed for about a second or two and then go full speed.

If only one fires up at full speed you have a fan issue. If nothing happens, you've either got a knackered Bitron unit, and knackered brown sensor or one of the relays melted. The relays are located at the top of the fans, in their own little black triangular box. Yes

Check the green relays in the passenger fuse compartment, these are known to cause problems Aaron. Yes

Cool. How do you tell if they are ok or not? Fuse maybe?

Have a look at the relays, make sure you can remove them and that they are not melted into the socket.

Do you have a Haynes manual Aaron? It has the diagrams in there and tells you what all the fuses are associateed with. I have one, but it's in the garage and I'm not in there now. If not, I will have a look for you when I next go in there. Smile

Sorted. Was the relay. Location wise the green relays are in 2 rows. The one which controls the heater unit is on the top row nearest the drivers door. As for how to check it...

Whoop whoop! I knew it could only be a handful of things but the forum is great for finding other faults or location and procedures. £5 well spent. Smile

Glad it's sorted Aaron, had a feeling it might have been a melted relay. Thumbs up

I'm just glad it was an easy fix, nothing worse than an electrical fault you can't diagnose...
