Just like many other tyres with soft sidewalls (Parada's comes straight to mind), they can be very sensitive to car weight, suspension setup and driving style.

That might be why paradas really didn't work on my heavy weight impreza. They were simply dangerous on that in type wet.

Well i have had T1Rs on both my Clio 172 & EP3 Civic Type R & both cars i had at the Nurburgring. I cant fault these tyres for the price. I also have them on my 6 & i cant complain about them.

The best wet tyre i have used is the Conti Sport Contact 2 but i wont pay the money for them.

Some rate Pradas etc but it all comes down to your budget & if you take on peoples opinions about each brand.

............but stay away from Nangkangs, you would have more grip running on bare rims lol

As said each to their own. Different tyres work for different people/cars/set up. I run T1Rs and they deffo grip really well wet and dry however IMO they wear pretty damn fast.

It's odd how views vary. I think that T1R's and Paradas are utter w**k in comparison to the likes of eagle f1s and .PE2s. But as said, each to their own. My only worry is people that have never had a costly good tire will think that proxys are the nuts without trying a dearer "better" tire. I know proxies and paradas are good for the money and that will put them off buying the more expensive Pe2's as they are nearly twice the price. But... they in my personal view are twice the tire. Smile

I used to swear by T1-R's. But then I bought the most ridiculously priced set of part worn PE2's off some guy that has a moonstone 6 at the lower part of the M25.

They were that cheap I should have inspected them for hair and blood - but they had 7mm plus of tread and were £70 for 4.

Best steal EVER

Bargain! They are roughly £65 fitted each in a 55 profile so that's very good. Smile
So, how do you rate PE2's in comparison? Worth the extra money?

Ive used a wide range of tyres including Michelin as my dad bought me up on Michelin tyres as he's had them on all of his cars. They're wonderful tyres and it's amazing how much grip they put out and how long they last.

The thing for me is in a 45 profile they are £100 a corner Shock

They are costly in the correct profile and that's why I use the 50 profile. £30ish a corner saving which is great considering you can't really notice the difference. Smile

I got my 4 Toyo's when I got my latest 6. 2 years and 4 months ago. My T1R's covered around 30k miles in total, including 5 or 6 pugfest runs chucking it into the corners (kinda). Anyone who says 30k miles out of a £30 tyre is bad needs their head kicked. Even when I gave them away to Sam on here all were legal (on limit), 2 had 1.6mm, 1 had 2mm and 1 had 2.5mm.

Think I'll be sticking to these super tyres for a super price for a very long time, until they change the tread pattern and I may re-consider if it effects the tyre

Me too. 4k from the front and 7k from the back. The nearside rear looked awful as the side wall had collapsed. LOL

good point. But 1 i only had toyo's on the front and 2 i had ditch finders perelli's on the back. Not to mention the black ice. So come to think of it two tyres did about 30k and 2 did 20k after the ditch incident. Safe ever since Smile

Thanks for this thread its been really helpful. I actually forgot this forum is used for car realated help. I tried to get the Toyo's in the deal that Jamma posted but they have sold out. I have MOT next week so dont have time to wait so gonna go to costco and get the tyres Welshpug and Gilesy mentioned. I have been informed by a guy named Bob at Costco that they are amazing tyres haha. Twice the price as the Toyos though so they better be twice as good. I have never had a problem with Toyos.

But yeah, cheers for the heads up on the Toyos and the Mich's

I've had a set of t1rs on my car for 7k now and there's about 5mm left all round and I'm quite a spirited driver.
Won't be buying them again. When I first got them they gripped quite well but now they just under steer if you go anywhere near a corner/roundabout at speed. Think the budgets that came on the car were better!

Definitely going for PE2s after having PS2s on my old car (same tyre just bigger basically). They had bags of grip even in the wet and ice!

I've had T1Rs for a while and never had any issues with them. Admittedly I've never driven the car with better tyres so I don't have anything to compare to.

It will be interesting to see the difference with the PE2'as as I have never had them before. However I never drive fast enough to really make the tyres do any work so I probably wont tell. I hope they last longer then the TR1's. though.
