Hello chaps, hope you're all doing well. Wave

I randomly came across this thread while looking for a video of a trackday I did in my Corrado at Oulton Park. Looks like I slung out the hard disk with all my old photos and videos on, muppet. Doh

Yes it was me that rolled his 306 into a field, do post the pics I'd like to see them. I remember trying to argue that I wasn't speeding, quite difficult when the speedo is stuck on 80. Laugh

I live in the USA now and have been through a few interesting cars (E60 M5 R.I.P., Challenger SRT8) but mostly drive Audis now, currently have a V8 R8, an S5, and a V8 Q7.....so I'm doing OK. Big grin

Hit Ash up on Twitter if you want to get hold of him, he checks it pretty regularly.

Oh and the original video of Joker is here, 1m27s: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=APhJDQe_urE

Try that. Wink

I don't even really remember what we all fell out over, it was a combination of who got to be moderator and who'd slept with Lazza....seems off talking about it after her accident though. :rip

I still rate the GTi-6 as one of the most fun cars I've owned though and we had some great times at meet ups back in the day. Yes

I love the S5, as a daily driver it's a f**kin' awesome car, it's got enough power to be fun, the 4WD is kick-ass in the snow when I have Blizzaks fitted, the Bang & Olufsen stereo is mint, and it does surprisingly good MPG too (about 22mpg on a longer run, the Q7 does about 15!...not that it matters that much at $3.30/gal Razz). The only down sides are it doesn't really look any better than an A5 S-line (although I had a 3.2 A5 and hated how slow it was) and it seriously needs an aftermarket exhaust as it's way too quiet for a V8 as standard.

That said I was up at Monticello Motor Park a couple of weeks back doing a track day in the RS5 which has finally made it's way over here and I absolutely loved it!! $70k + options so might take some creative reasoning to convince the mrs I need it as an upgrade for my commute into Manhattan when I already have the R8 though. Laugh

What S6 do you have? The 4L V8 turbo jobby? Don't you have all the parking sensors/cameras? I know I'm s**t at parking so every car I buy these days gets fully kitted out with the numpty parking assist stuff. LOL

Drove an S6 the other day, 420bhp odd, nice car, obviously it shifts but felt very sedate to me...be a great effortless motorway cruiser for sure but not exciting. GoogleMaps Nav rocks however! No RS6 available over here, lame. Thumbs down

Its a few years old so its the 5.2 V10 version.

18mpg and £1.35 a litre over here Whistle

Its pretty good fun for a barge and has lots of toys but the shear size of it in miniscule UK parking spaces makes it a bit of a challenge at the supermarket Sad

The RS5 is a very nice looking motor and quick out of the packet too. A guy just got 9 years I think following a 180mph chase in one.

Get some pics up of the R8 Thumbs up

Im toying with a 911 but I just don’t know if I can live with it day to day as I like having the space of the S6.

Seen this just a few miles up the road and have resisted the urge to go and have a look so far - http://www.ianstudleycarsltd.co.uk/used/PORSCHE/911/AETV90122994

Mmmm V10, sweet! What's the power on those things? I love the way V10s sound...I had an E60 M5 which was fast as f**k, before I drove it through the front wall of an old peoples home and parked it in a 100yr old woman's bedroom! Shut up

Dom had a 993 C2S, but then he had a little mishap in the wet, (not his fault at all of course Whistle) so now he has a 993 C4S...they're great cars if you don't need the rear seats, a lot faster than their book output would have you believe, but I agree the interior is very basic especially if you're used to a modern Audi. Yes

Personally I'd only have the turbo though because I'm a heathen not a proper "enthusiast", but then then I had a Challenger SRT8 so that says it all. Laugh

Its 430BHP standard iirc but its most likely down a bit on power due to the carbon build up issues; google carbon build up on your S5 if you want some scary pics (assuming it’s the V8 FSi).

Mine has a stainless system which is pretty subtle until you floor it; then you know it’s a V10. This clip paid a large part in my buying decision - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d71R_a3agIo Love

You don’t crash lightly then Alex; all or nothing eh Laugh

Apparently the new S6 with the new s-tronic gearbox is quicker in a sprint to 62mph than the C6 RS6 which is a pretty good feat of engineering.

    Edit.

    Sweet Audis Alex Thumbs up

I cant write much as am so ill and have no energy but wanted to say well done kebabman, youve done very well for yourself! Awesome selection of cars. I love USA and love their cars, the challanger looks so awesome. I'd be tempted to get a corvette or an old muscle car. I know american cars are built like s**t and cant handle but its not like they have corners in america anyway..

    It’s not just Audi Alex.

Any car with direct fuel injection will suffer as there is no fuel passing over the inlet valves; I believe that there is a fix for this on new cars now in production but no manufacturer will recognise this as a fault on existing cars.

The only suggested fixes were fitting an oil catch tank or water/meth injection but neither seemed to make much difference. If Audi suggest a fuel additive don’t even bother as that wont help a direct injection car either.

You will probably stand a better chance of getting it cleaned free or at a discounted rate by Audi in the states but over here there is none at all.
