moved into a flat in town now, so dont have the disposable cash and space for a project like the rallye.

gti6 is going back on the road Smile

price i think 1100 as it is, with as much of n interior as i can get back in it

1700 with the new fiberglass buckets and harness's in. ish anyway. would like a bit more obviously but thats the rock bottom ill take. looking to break even more than anything else and the new owner must love and worship it lol

yea 6 is staying, more reliable and faster, more practical, and cant afford modified insurance for it so it wont be such a project. just a bit of a resto on tired looking bits Smile

i think us crowborough and uckers lot need to meet soon. even if its just a quick outing for an hour just to put some faces to names

Vxrs are overated, had a Corsa Vxr arctic edition for a weekend,my old 16v Rallye had it in the twisties.

its staying 8vSmile bit hesitant and boggy in part throttle in low revs so new lambda sensor and map sensor will sort that.he says.

!aaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhh f@%!%!*@&@!?+@!&!%%17@%!+!?'+!&

Deep breath.
idle geeks step up please..
Cold start idle is good, steady and smooth.a lil high at around 1100-1200 for a minute or two till warm.
jerky and boggy/ hesitant up to say 3k revs then smooth and pulls strong.

After a mile or two the revs will drop to 500-600rpm when foot is on the clutch and approaching junction, then recovers to 1k. Most of the time just dies.
This is annoying..

It's not a good look having to rev it like a rudeboi at junctions and traffic lights.

I've replaced Icv
cleaned crank sensor
ran the car with lambda sensor unplugged, also plugged in
took inlet off, checked gaskets and also any leaks, all pipes tight,no issues there.
reset ecu
full tank of v power & injector cleaner

this evening I unplugged purge valve, pic below and it idled smoother so I hooned it down my fav private road for 15mins and drive it hard. idle caught nicely at 1k everytime i stopped, slowed down or approached a junction. Niiiicee.

well.got home, reversed into my drive and BAM! revs drop and dies down.grrr
i am waiting for a new lambda sensor and trying to source s map sensor.
I drove with map sensor unplugged and car behaved as expected. Ran it with lambda unplugged again predictable behaviour.

Now the rad has seen better days and loses about 200 ml every short 7 mile journey to work. But no leaks..
Headgasket went on my old 306 Rallye and moisture went into the head and contaminanted lambda sensor?
Can this happen?? Full head rebuilt with headgasket with receipts less than 3k miles ago and def doesn't feel down on power but exhaust reeks

I see you have a lightweight flywheel - this can cause inability to capture dropping revs.

Sup Callum, few little changes, nothing major.

Gave the interior a really good clean

Fitted an Omp lower strut brace

Brand new Saxo Vts Radiator, flushed the whole system. Now it doesn't loose any coolant, must have just been a sneaky leak on my old battered radiator.phew

Pugsport mid section replaced with a decatted one,old centre section had a standard cat welded in. Whole old system was Magnex Peugeot Sport, backbox still is,mid section is now the newer Scorpion Pugsport.

New gearbox oil. Old one was s**tty Halfrauds and made the box whine.this stuff is awesome, now selects even smoother, love that gearbox.

New balljoint and wishbone bolts

Old skool tape player, will hook it up to an aux-in tape. Not like I need a stereo now that the Pugsport rasps and pops.

Interior light now works, fixed itselfSmile waiting for it to compensate by something playing up.also I'm going to dye the rooflining black.its grey atm and doesn't suit the red and black interior imo.
How the Pugsport hangs

Also attacked a bit of wannabe surface rust under the Boot, really nothing major but I'm a perfectionist, rust remover, wire brush, hammerite and waxoyl.

Paintwork in general needs love. few scratches and stuff. Previous owner tried to respray, rattle can style but used the 205 cherry red, darker than 106 cherry red. Nice from far,far from nice..

Stickers are all faded

Steels looked very sorry for themselves, quick coat of Hammerite made them presentable enough until payday when I get some S2 steels and new tires all around.

yup all good there.tightened em up to correct tension. New lambda sensor didn't cute the stalling and fault code reads map sensor.eventhou it's a 'known working' one apparently.so I'm after another one.
also developed a clunk from the front passenger side driveshaft/wishbone/lower strut brace/wheel bearing/brakes.
only does it when I punch the accelerator and brake hard.only one knock. You'd think gearbox or engine mount but they are all spot on and are all fairly new GrpN jobbies.
I'll update when I find what it is when I get home.
on a positive note,it's an absolute riot on a private country lane, wow, absolutely love it.

So much Better with the decat, noticeably more KAPOWWWWW in the high revs. And rasps like crazy but not until about 5k. Then it sounds like I have hornets in my backbox, and angry ones at that. doesn't pop as much as a 1.6, few splatters and farty sounding pops but no flames yet. Im pretty sure the 1.6 16v en pretty rich on overrun.
The mystery knocking noise was my battery securing bracket I tightened the bolt by hand and it worked loose..Advice of the day- don't take shortcuts. What a day! I think I might go for a nice blast tonight.

So i thought I found the cause of a knocking when accelerating..
it was back yesterday so i had another good look around.
removed my lower strut brace and painted it yellow, boredom.

drove the car without it to see if the noise was still there and it was.

I then got bit annoyed and started forcefully shaking and pulling at the passenger wishbone. Lots of play in the rear mount and voila,we have the culprit.

Yup it's staying 8v. Needs revving hard to get going, not quite as punchy as a 1.6 16v but it sounds great and is a lot of fun in high revs. Plenty of character. 'Only a 1.3????' Get that a lot.

Still occasionally stalls at junctions,1 in 10 times,if that also runs a bit lumpy and hesitant in lower revs so I have a map sensor and a coolant temp sensor on the way.I've tried EVERYTHING else.
its perfectly driveable, just a bit annoying.

More driveable than my charged one is, starting To get annoying it stalling and running lumpy as hell below 2k, will re-do cambelt timing soon just to be sure but it was perfect when I put the engine in...
Got it in at work today to throw on 2x new rear calipers and rear braided hoses at lunch. Won't be being driven much over the winter though starting to get the arse with spending money on it.

spending money is no fun!
Feeling brave Pete? spoke to Piper Cams and a 6 degree retard on my cam will give It more of a mid range punch and make it run a bit better in general? Got a Vernier pulley on it.

Easily done mate but wouldn't know about measuring exactly 6 degrees unless theirs marks on the pulley? Also
Depends if it's set to standard as well which I doubt if someones put a vernier on there.
My car has decided to be a French pile of s**t as usual as pretty much all of the brake unions are siezed... Gonna just make up complete new rear lines and be done with it I think.... Means I gotta drive home with a spongy pedal as have managed to change the brake hoses but couldn't get the calipers off so can't bleed them out Angry

Followed you into work this morning in the hdi, as I've got brembo's on the 6 now I've put the 283mm 6 brakes on the hdi. Did you already have 266mm setup for this or are you looking to get? Got a full set here you can have if you need. needs discs though.

Also me and a few mates are gonna organise a rolling road day soon if your interested? £35 for 2 runs with a very accurate RR. Will be on a Sunday.
