Hello everyone, Seeking some advice on buying a welder.

Got various jobs that need doing on the 2 pugs i own (replacing sills, welding in a cage, seat mounts etc...)

Have a budget of around £350-450 for just the welder, preferably Sealey or Draper as i can get good discounts of these brands.

I think it was discussed before but i have done a search and can't find the thread.

'Sealey supermig180' is what i'm currently lookin at.

Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated Smile

Buy an R-Tech iMig 160 off me, you wont beat the performance on that with a Sealy or Draper thats for sure.

This is the one i use, very good low amps for the very thin steel like on Peugeot's, used it on my 205's. It has one of the best Sweden wire feeders, always good to get the best wire feeders, they make all the difference to the welds, very well made.

It maybe a little out your price range but well worth the money, its also British made with a 2 year warranty. It uses one of the best euro torches and comes with a frame and wheels etc.

It produces very good looking welds with the right technique.

I can also offer the Portamig, I expect I can improve on that price too. I'll take a look tomorrow and let you know. I'd love to sell you what I use but at £1,550 they are a little steep!
