greetings all,

two of my vacum hoses coming out of the brake servo are kinked (the one straight out of the servo and other other one at the end of the metal tubing that runs along the bulkhead). i want to replace them as they cannot be working optimally and im sure mr mot wont be happy with them.

i've seen i could buy a metre lenghs from ebay but do i need custom shaped hoses? ideally i would just run one lengh of hoses from the servo and bypass the metal hose at the bulk head, would this be acceptable/sensible?

really i just wanted to ask your advice about the best approach.

thanks in advanced

You say that, but if it turns out that the braking IS being affected by the lack of vacuum caused by a kinked hose then it will fail. Yes

Regardless of if the brakes work or not if a vacuum hose is collapsed its an mot faliure. Depends how hard the tester is looking and if their feeling harsh or not. Ideally you want Hose with as thicker sidewalls as possible to minimise collapse. High pressure fuel hose works well but isn't very flexible.

yeah i was thinking he was replacing it purely from a visual point of view even though the brakes probably are working fine

still, any proper vacuum hose will be fine. reminds me, need to buy some for my 205 gti6 conversion. more expense. great
