Now, I have a lower mount, which was damaged when I removed it.

However, I've read peoples opinions on powerflex wishbone bushes and they all say "they don't last long" and that they fail prematurely.

Is this true, or just forum hearsay?

The reason I ask, is that I'm after some bushes and don't know if the standards will do, or if I want to try the blacks (95 shore). Powerflex offer a lifetime warranty and have heard nothing about premature failures, so nobody has told the manufacturer about their "crap" products?

Genuine standard mounts will be fine. Out of interest, why do you feel you need uprated ones?

I've heard that they crack and split those lower mounts.
And ive never heard a good word said about them on here...

Try Vibratechnics perhaps, Or those the partner type peugeot jobbies. Im going to fit some of them soon so i'll let you know if you like

Really the choice only comes down to (as far as i can tell)
    Standard type:
    Peugeot
    Lemforder

    Partner Type:
    Peugeot

    Aftermarket:
    Vibratechnics
    roller bearing ones

This question is geared more towards why people dislike them, really. Sorry, the lower bush craic may have been a little misleading.

I want up-rated bushes as the rest of the setup is non standard.

I already have VibraTechnics P-Bushes, it's the fronts I'm looking to change, probably Lemforder as Poogeot don't sell front bushes separately.

I'm in contact with SuperPro and Powerflex regarding the bushes, which is why I'd like to put an actual question to them regarding quality, as Eliot has said, this forum doesn't speak highly of them, but they don't come up with a real reason, and as I said, if there was an issue... why didn't they complain to Powerflex? If they don't know there's a problem, they can hardly fix it.

ALSO, I mentioned the black's, 95 shore bushes and they don't list them online as they haven't extensively tested and won't/can't offer warranty. So to me, this suggests that the fronts have been through product design and testing?

I had them in my 309, fitted standard Peugeot bushes and it was so much better, tighter and quieter as well, given how much cheaper they are and how long they last, its a no-brainer.

Go for decent quality, which often for pugs means only proper oe, and they will last.

Not a massive fan of powerflex, Much prefer Vibra mounts / solid rubber.

Ive found that powerflex are hard enough, but when they do move they don't have the same elastic properties of rubber, so they stay in the moved position instead of springing back.

I also have this mount, no longer on my car as it was on my previous Rallye, the bush is damaged on the face but I would certainly imagine incorrect usage/handling/fitting is the result of this.

    I might get one again.

I made solid bushes, probably much like the rollers that are bought on here. Didn't really like the feel on our B-roads, so I'm thinking of machining some poly bushes up instead.

    I'm thinking shore - 90 or 85 if I can get it.

Super Flex (also known as Super Pro) are Australian made and excellent quality. SF does a very wide range of stuff, including classic cars. Comparing PF and SF side by side reveals SF definitely better made in my experience. But make your own mind up.

I put a full set of SF bushes on a 1987 quattro, ran it for 5 years and they were excellent.

But with the Rallye I'm going OE stuff all the way.

Looking around, people generally quite like powerflex, bit I've yet to find anything negative with the SF bushes
