Seeing everybody gets their knickers in a twist over this feature now should it stay or go?

Discuss but don't abuse the button especially as I've added a Poll.

Guess yes as some stuff could get out of hand and not just be a reason to block anything fragile members start threads over.

Also if we do remove it can we have a breakdown of the thread reporters in a league table form. Don't think I've done more than 2 but good to see if I have.

i think it should go, seen as there is admins online more often now, if they see something that should genuinely be locked then lock it.

It really annoyed me before when threads were constantly getting locked, then jamma's future thread got locked when there was no need.

Looking at it from those views, maybe it should go, or at least increase the amount of reports because if the threads end up being bad enough then more would signify this, yet keep the fun.

What about reporting particular members posts up to 3 ?

The report button was more important when the admin team was less active.

That said admins can unlock reported threads.

I don't see why the above can't happen and a feature of the forum be kept that I'm sure any mature, responsible person can work out when it needs using.

Stan said on Jamma's thread that the people have been noted and I may well be wrong but I'm sure the same has been said in the past. What I don't get is why the warnings etc, it isn't primary school, if people can't use the forum properly then kick them off it.

Also I agree with those that requested name and shame the idiot's that are doing it, Rich E put the Aka status on Dan's profile which is naming and shaming him for trolling so why do that to him but not to the people constantly reporting Jamma's threads? I doesn't make sense and isn't very consistent.

Good to see the admin input on this thread but guess they are all too busy tapping ladyboy up to the hilt in a tag team style. When you've all spent your loads feel free to contribute.

I can't believe the button's still there, I can't even remember how many times it's been pointed out how stupid it is.

If you're not a moderator, why are you allowed to lock threads? What other forum in the universe lets people do that?! Basically I could sign up five times and lock every single thread that starts on here, why would I be able to do that?

LOSE THE BUTTON.

Ok...

From my perspective, now there is more Admin presence and a member of the team is pretty much around at all times, I think the button is fairly useless. As said above, locked threads can be unlocked by the team and also people who do abuse the report button will be dealt with if repeat offences occur.

However, alongside my view point I also strongly agree with the points that Owain has raised below, and I believe the feature has become unnecessary due to increased thread policing.

Wise words Owain...I think this needs sorting. Yes
