CRF450 had shortened mount's that gave him standard travel and lower centre of gravity etc (but also I assume better beam life if you dont actually lower it in the traditional method)

Now if you can get solid mounts, why is no-one suppyling ones that are about 25mm shorter?
Is it me or would that not be far better than lowering the beam on normal solid mounts for a number of reasons?
A) Wouldnt need to **** about with lowering the TB's
CoolWould maintain the same amount of travel
C) lower centre of gravity
D) longer beam life maybe??

Is there 25mm of spare space for the beam to be closer to body?Dunno

As for keeping the same amount of travel,it would still be less travel than standardYes as bump stops are fitted to the shell and you would be reducing the gap between them and trailing arms by 25mmWink

Altering the height with the TB's does not affect beam life that I can seeDunno
Its just people fiddling with 12 odd year old beams then putting it down to the fact it was lowered, not the fact its worn outSmile
Pretty sure if you fully re-built a beam at standard height, and a fully re-built a lowered one and used them both the same the life span would be equalThumbs up

Not a bad idea but don't one of the mounts for the fuel tank go over the front torsion bar? If you shorten the, too much they might get in the way.
