Sorry but I strongly disagree.... The R34 wasn't much of an upgrade from the R33. In standard form the turbos changed to BB turbos which made the engine more responsive but that was about it.

I just don't understand how R34s are still commanding silly money (admittedly £20k is cheap for an R34) when R32s and R33s have practically the same chassis, engine and are just as versatile to modify.

Answering the original question in the thread, if you've got sufficient income to maintain it, I'd go for a 991 Turbo for that money. 996s are coming into that price bracket now and they're serious motors.

I have no idea why you are even considering a Japanese saloon or a Ford hatchback when it's just a weekend toy. Buy something interesting like the TVRs or a 911.

The only reasons cars like the Focus RS exist is because some people are stupid enough to spend over £25,000 on a new one.

What about something like a Z4M Coupe?

Focus RS, RB320 or MkIV Supra Turbo(manual) of your list if it was my £20,000

...personally I would get a big power T34 EsCos or Grp4 MkII(hard pushed to find one for that money though).

Z4m is pretty damn fun. Chased a ferrari f430 in my bosses old one and it stacked up well to be fair. On paper it's quicker and a Porsche cayman!!

As Ian has already suggested. Id go for a Delta Integrale Evo without question. Granted not half as quick as other suggestions, but for me it's the motorsport prestige of 6 straight WRC championships and how the car makes you feel. They are also rapidly increasing in value given the motorsport kudos. Buy one now and cherish it, you will not loose a penny (unlike the common M3's/ M5's etc...) The exotic looks, blistered arches/ adjustable rear wing/ lhd all adds to the occassion of driving one. I went on hols to Monaco years back, and amongst all the Ferraris etc parked up... it was a Monza red Integrale that attracted most admiring looks. Just my 2p's worth.... either way enjoy what you buy you lucky sod!!

That reminds me of a time I was on the golden mile in marbella, loads of top supercars there but it was an Alfa 156GTA that drew the crowds.

Has the ugly earlier generation lights. Not the best.

Id probably go for something like a Noble M12 or a massively overpowered EVO.

think deans putting his up for sale in a few weeks for around the 19k.... he swapped it for a rs200 kit car last year, I was heartbroken until I went out in his noble. Though a 911 turbo pulls my strings

Am more and more tempted to buy a 9, 10 grand car and have money to spend if bits break on it, it is not just a one off amount of money so keeping the car running so to speak would not be a problem really

That 996 Turbo is good value though.
