Just scraped one the other week, but with the S16 one you need a steel sump or get grinding.

i've put a thread on drivers, so in middle of trying to sort it. i never realised the s16 alternators were different to the gti6. i've hassled colin satchell into making me another one of these:

so i can't use the full s16 setup. i have a gti6 alternator here, so naturally i'm annoyed. i might see if i can make something for mounting the alternator on, like a bit of thin bar and lug with a tube to run a bolt through. we'll see

you still need the alternator mounting if you use the satchel upper mounting, as miles said you need a steel sump usually.

DCC has all you will need.

he'll only sell the kit complete though, the top mount is no use to me

we're hopefully going to fabricate a proper lower mount at weekend for the gti6 alternator, will report back!

i reckon if i just cut the bottom ~50mm off the std gti6 one which retains the alternator mounting lugs and the 2x bolt holes into the block, then use rosejointed adjuster on a colin satchell topmount, then that'd work fine.
