My stainless steel backbox has a small crack/ split along one of the hangers. the backbox and full system was supplied by pugperformance and looks near enough identical to a magnex, hangers in the same place. I've sealed it up with some firegum for now but its just a temporary measure.can it be welded or is there an easy fix? The whole system is pretty mint and I don't fancy binning it just for a small crack by the hanger.

Could take it to an engineering place that weld stainless and get them to weld it up.

But first I'd contact the company you bought it from and seek their advice. They may be willing for you to send it back for repair if it's covered by a lifetime warranty.

It came on the car,no paperwork for it and pugperformance supplied it. I think I'll be better off just finding a specialist place to have a look at it.

probably powerflow or similar, any ss exhaust place could weld it up, or take it back to PPand ask if there's any warranty's and who made it.

It has a metal plate on the bottom of the backbox and on the silencer, just like my old magnex. my friend said he can weld it. he said that the weld won't he stainless but he'll make a good job of it. So far the exhaust gum stuff seems to keep it sealed well, should last me till Monday morning. Also silencer knocks on heatshield, fun fun fun.

Got it booked for Monday morning. Gotta get under it later and push the silencer about to stop it banging on the heatshield.
