Firstly the plastic air intake wasn't properly attached to the filter tube, somehow it has broken at the end.



But more worryingly I saw this

This pipe was also covered in oil/grime. Could this potentially have caused any damage?

No, it is a common failure for the ICV supply pipe to break here. When this happens most people bung the hole up in the main pipe, and put a breather filter on the end of the ICV supply pipe. Wink

Thanks, I take it that the ICV pipe and also the plastic air intake are the same on all phases?

Your plastic intake pipe isnt broken at the end - its made like that so it fits around the pipe thats below it on the filter housing

Get a heat gun and warm the end up so it melts, then push it onto the large bore pipe and it will melt back together.

Job done.
