I still say those walls want painting if you want it to look real pimp, can't have those LED lights onto your Porker on a tiled floor and leave the walls bare No

I reckon if I cleaned my car with that I'd just end up with a patch of damp rust and four tyres.

Well as the build is starting to come to an end it's time to bring some of my stuff home and start filling the man shed up.

I bought this on eBay for £100 a good couple of months ago-

It's bloody heavy to move around. I bought it to fill with pop and beer etc, the missus is one of those people who buy in bulk with vouchers etc.

I started to sweep up plaster board clippings, the electricians off cuts of wire and mud that's walked in from out side which left me with this-

I moved the fridge into where I wanted it to be and cracked this beast out, I brought it home from work to see if it would make the cleaning of the floor any easier-

After filling it with a diluted mix of tfr and a quick run over it left me with this-

After a while the daughter must have been bored, she has got to the age now of wanting to make hot drinks etc, I was greeted with this-

She then started to help me bring in the vast amount of drinks we had stashed away, most of which I bought from Germany after my ring trip a few months ago, then disaster, she managed to drop a bottle of bud which took out another, two bottles down, I nearly got on my knees and sucked it off the floor-

Fridge now filled with the stuff we had, unfortunately though the fridge inside and the coca cola sign at the top doesn't illuminate.

Found this and think it may be the culprit, changed the tube and it wasn't that, think this is the start up ballast, need to find one, anyone have any ideas where from?-

I then called it a day, this is what I was left with-

I only did a test patch as the tiler isn't finished so just. Wanted to see how the floor would come up.

Looking good. I might have a old spare ballast in the car. Will have a look when i go to work tomorrow. If so, you can have it for postage.
Also, the light switch next to the fridge, why have you also got a test switch on there?

It's a witch with a special key, as the missus always turns the outside lights on, with it like this i can turn em off and she can't put them on ha ha.

If you have a ballast that would be great.

Thanks, Carl

Yeah its a EL test switch. Needs like a 2 prong key to switch it on and off? You will want to get a few of them because they bend very easily and eventually snap. You can just use a small flat blade screwdriver to pop the cover off to reveal a standard switch if this happens though.

will check the car tomorrow for you

No to be fair I have run out of money, it will have to wait I am afraid. Silly things have cropped up which took my funds.

Well a lot has happened and as of now it's a working garage, I have started to strip my 911 down to cure it from its little oil leak, I may get carried away as usual and paint the odd bits and pieces, not to mention the electro plating LOL

This is how it looks with two cars in it, a motorbike and various electricians bits and pieces, very spacious, have to say I am loving it.

Just waiting for the chippy to finish off a few bits on Saturday then I get get all the crap out the garage and have a real good tidy up, I have been a real geek and bought a couple of carpet mats with a ford and porsche logo on, shame on me lol

Also the electrician is finishing off the wiring so that mess at the end of the garage will be tidied up.

Soon be time to bring the escort cosworth home.

You put a car in there knowing it's leaking oil :shock

That looks awesome mate, you must be really pleased. Except your previously nice driveway which now looks terrible, but who cares? You'll be in the garage.

Don't worry there's a plaster board underneath it catching the drips lol

Yes the drive I want is done in concrete and is Imprinted, I need to save up a bit before I can go ahead with that I am afraid.

Careful with the plasterboard, isn't it porous? Get enough oil on it and it'll just soak through.

Going for imprinted concrete eh? Out of interest, why that choice? Need to do my driveway at some point.

Had it done at my old house and after ten years of abuse as you can imagineBig grin it looks just like the day it was laid.

Does it not look a bit shiny? I've seen a few that look like plastic. Any cracks of anything?

It does at first as its sealed but the sheen wears off and leaves a nice original cobbled effect, if the drive is big it is cut into sections so it can expand and contract, these are filled with a colour silicon to match.

We've got imprinted concrete here, just a heads up that i think brake cleaner or brake fluid reacts with the lacquer stuff, atleast ours did. It's all rippled in one bit where i was working on my car. Doh

That's odd as I was a right plonker with the last drive, it had almost everything spilt on it and nothing seemed to bother it, unless the laquer was different, the laquer can be removed and re applied if that's the case to sort yours out fella.

Hmm
Maybe it was because it had been freshly lacquered and it might not have completely set. Either way i'm denying any knowledge of how it happened. Ninja Laugh
