Hi Guys,

Is there any solution to install the brace from a 206 GTI / RC (or something like that) to a 306/Xsara beam? It seems to be a good idea to brace each trailing arm, thus it would not only rely on the bearing themselves.

This is what I'm talking about:

And this was done to a 205 rallycross car:

Additionally, I found the following pic on a net of a rear brace for a 405. :

Would this make ANY kind of difference?

Another pic..

I'm sure if someone could come up with a setup like this for the 306 it would sell wellNinja

Cool

I think the rose jointed version like on that 205 is doable! Have to finish a DPF off on a Mazda 5 tomorrow, then I'll fire up my tape measure and imagination LOL

If you do a solid rose jointed version you have to put the pivot in the middle of the beam like the one welsh has posted - otherwise the suspension will bind and bend/wear very quickly indeed, hence fairly soft rubber bushes on the 206 setup.

That 405 brace is a complete waste of time, not doing anything there.

Custom-made polybushes available - need an odd size or fitment? - anything from batch work to one-off pieces.

This is good, but it needs the beam to be modified, and I'm looking for a simple solution which could be done even with the original beam Smile

Do you mean, that the fixing point of the rose jont should right in the middle of the beam tube - near where the ARB sits. OR should it be right in the car's midline?

Is the solution they did on that 205 not any good at all?

And about the 405 brace - I was thinking the same really. That company seems to love putting unnecessary weight onto customer's cars:

the best one:

They're a right set of fkn numpties!

The one I looked at for Matt's clio was just as good - it bolted to some tinfoil brackets in the boot - nowhere near anything structural or load bearing, basically the only thing it would stop your shopping hitting the seats.

Tibi - you'd need the pivot of the brace arms to be the centre of the beam, same as the trailing arm pins, otherwise they'll bind against each other.

is that the reason why 206 has so soft bushes at the rear bracing?

I'd imagine so, you can use it to your advantage a bit, and have no tension/compression there in droop - then have link and bush progressively go into compression the more load there is on the arm.

The 206 GTi 180 stuff is available from pug and could be adapted.

The 2 parts to wrap around the beam are £80
The 2 trailing arm brackets are £70
the 2 bars are £145

total is about £300 with bolts.

it wont work straight on a 205/309/306 beam due to the location of the torsion bars
