Hi all, before you flame me YES i have done a search but couldn't find any info that satifies my question.

if i used eibach springs to lower the front (which would approximately be around the 30mm mark) what would be the best height to lower the rear by to get the best handling out of the car??

About 30 mm just don't make it nose heavy and it will be fine

Eibach springs on standard shock won't lower it at all - I should know as I've just done it ? Left the rear as it was ?

forgot to add i would be uprating the shocks to match the lowering springs not just using lowering springs on their own

c'mon guys surely someones got an opinion on this!

if the front was lowered by 30mm (for example) should the rear also be lowered by 30mm so the cars stance is level and flat at both ends or should the rear be slightly higher than the front, and if so, how much higher?

genuinely need your advice!! Smile

The rear of the car is 10mm higher than the front as standard anyway, and that is the way it should be. Yes

I have lowered mine by 40mm all round, handles like a go-kart and sticks to the floor like jam to a blanket. Smile

    Shocks make no difference to height!!!Dunno

    Are you sure you did not have lowering springs on it before??Whistle

    Fitted Eibachs to my standard Rallye shocks and it was deffo lowerYes

    by fitting eibachs to std front struts, a measurement of 322mm between the rear shocker bolt points, will be spot on when lowerering

    although, i usually set lowered beams to 320mm

    ok cool stan Thumbs up now to add abit of confusion into the mix LOL , by 40mm all round do you mean 40mm reduced at front and rear compared to the standard ride height so the back end is still higher by maintaining a 10mm difference, or has it been lowered so the height at the front and rear is exactly the same making the car level?

    also, when roland said to me lower the front by 30mm and the rear by 25mm does this mean in comparision the difference between the rears ride height compared to standard would it now be higher? (increasing it by 5mm basically) so now the difference would be a 15mm higher ride height at the rear as opposed to the 10mm standard setting?

    I always set the rear to 322 as Andy said, matches eibachs very well.

    hey guys just noticed this thread, does anyone out there know the standard heights for front and rear, and where i'd measure that from, because i've just bought a 6 and the front looks much higher than the rear :S if i use the fingers between tyre and wheel arch technique, i have 2 fingers at the rear, but 4 at the front!!!

    I think mine is at about 40mm alround but looks gay as f**k at the moment as its stripped out.So going to go for about 45-50mm all round.

    Mine 40 on the front and 30-35 at tte back. Handles well id say. Turn in is nice and sharp. Better than when it was 40 all round. Personal opinion though. Smile

    REVIVE!

    Ok so I switched over to B12s on the front recently and the front is still about 10mm higher than the back I'm not even sure it's lowered it at all (its stripped out) is this normal? The rears are still on standard.

    You mean b8s with eibachs bud ? B12 kit just means you get b6 rears with the b8 fronts ? Sounds like the rear needs adjusting

    If youve just fitted new ones they will sink a little with some use not a great deal
    Best get iut there n drive sling it about abit and get some miles into the springs and you may find it sorts just nice i have b8 n eibach on one of mine drops it nicely now they're worn in

    It should look lower at the front if you set the rear to the correct height Smile

    No not likely then eibach sink a little from new then work harden as they set in
    May though if theyve been out a while and where never run in properly
