Towing anything with Torsion bar's is horrid, Even a old 405 Estate I had (This is when they where newish) wasn't that great even within the weight limit,
Just a suitable car is fine, No need for 4x4's etc

But what is the main thing is the rated weight of the trailer, even if your under they still can have you under 'intent', Which I know a huge off topic a mate got done for drink driving with the keys in his pocket as he was sleeping in the car and not driving it.
