Dean, as I said, put some 6 brakes on the old girl. They work very well, iv never had any problem with brake fade. I usually use brembo discs and normal ferrodo pads from 4u2fit and its a set up that works very well and is relativly inexpensive. Smile

Renault Brembos with 330mm discs.
Only getting them because they look cool through the spokes, LOL , the standards are good enough for me.

Not sure I'd be happy with standard brakes when running circa 450bhp but each to their own LOL

I know it sounds funny but how often can I use that 450 bhp, not much and when I do it seems to stop excellent with the pads, fair enough if I get on track I'm sure I'll change my opinion LOL
But for road use unless you have a dizzy adapter and carb they are more than up to the job.

I find that the more power you have under the bonnet tends to lead to more sedate driving; I get accused of driving like an old man most of the time and my mate with an SL55 hadn’t noticed that his supercharger wasn’t kicking in.

I guess when you have a lot of performance just knowing is enough and you choose your opponents more selectively.

Exactly, just because you have power available doesn't mean you need it all the time. Even my diesel Astra has about 230lb of torque which is great when you need to overtake, but if wouldn't even be safe driving flat out in that car all the time, let alone when you have 400+ bhp.

It's people who know they don't have so much who have to rag it everywhere to compensate Thumbs up

Agreed, when I had my scooby I found myself pottering about more.but when you do give it some, you give it some. Smile

This ^^

I find exactly this with my GTi-6, it is definitely a case of waiting to use the power as and when you need to. Yes
