'Long story short'

Late last year I looked up the registration of my Old Metro G131 OAM on the DVLA website only to discover it had been re-registered as 'white' (Originally flame red) and being Sorn, which made me curious about its history since my ownership. I had assumed it had been crushed after hearing the engine was removed to be used in a Mini. I left a post on the facebook group 'Mg Metro TURBO owners' the other day about G131 OAM only to look up at the top of the page to see a picture of the car's registration on a white '6R4'. Unsure I was reading the plate right (being a small - 100x100 photo) I took a closer look just to be certain and here she is as she is now(although I am told no longer in white)...

Cool
It has actually been converted to RWD and is powered by a Rx-8 Rotary engine producing 240hp More details Here
(old thread)

Mixed emotions about how she is now, although nice to know someone is taking pride in the old girl never thought in a million years, it would become such a big project certainly not an Rx-8 powered RWD. No

You sir either live for the 6 or have a mental retardation to still be repairing this!

The best engine in the world is the vagina, it takes any size piston, its self lubricating, starts with 1 finger, and every 4 weeks does its own oil change. It's just a pity the management system is so fecking temperamental.

I was secretly hoping it was converted to a 6R4 or at very least AWD or V6... RWD is something I suppose but 'OAM' is certainly unique LOL

Edit: I also should add it is being upgraded to nearly 400BHP!

I guess it's nice to know that the legend lives on for someone else to enjoy. Yes

He says he has no time to fix/repair so i've offered to buy them back, he bought a 1275 gt clubman and a metro turbo my plan was to drop the turbo'd lump in the mini and go from there

Well if the metro hasn't deteriorated too much might be worth selling the shell on if you were to buy them back and do the swap. Crying shame IMO but its up to the buyer at the end of the day, the prices on the ramaining cars on the road will rocket before long as they are already getting steep.

I guess it's the choice of the person who owns it really, once it's legally yours, you can do what you like with it...Yes

I bought a back issue of Retro Cars which it apparently featured in... Can't wait till it arrives. Hyper

It does look like an animal. Looks nothing like it did when I owned it. Completely standard to what you see above... Not sure what colour it is now Dunno

My brother showed me a thread on FocusFanatics where this guy owned an RS200 road car and it was just sat in a warehouse covered in dirt with a mountain of junk all around it. The owner basically bought it because he could and had no interest in it whatsoever... Sorry but that is insane. Certainly a car such as the RS200!! Guns
