I've just discovered my cone air filter is missing!! Shock It must have fallen off and I've driven over it except I dont know when that happened.

Whats the best setup these days and what does everyone else have? I dont have any of the original air box anymore (previous owner removed it) and I've never liked how low the Pipercross dangled anyway. How else can I arrange it to keep it away from road water but not be affected by engine heat?

what does the box look like/include? I've never actually seen one! I presume the plastic hose that my filter was once attached to, goes into one side of the box and the intake scoop thing in the other side?

Can do it for £30 posted Smile

If you want to something like a K&N E9000 or the green R434000 standard element would drop straight in and save you replacing the filter at every service.

The previous owner of my car had a k&n setup inside the OE airbox
The modified the bottom to scoop air in sounded Awsome!
I believe he still has the pictures on a website I'll try find them again!

Mine also looked like it had been found on the Titanic when I first got my car Smile After a quick run over with Kurust and sandpaper then a coat or two of Hammerite paint it looked ok. Not stunning but a lot more presentable and it's so much easier to remove the base now!

I didn't know it looked like that, probably because I've never had this bit in my car. I always thought it was more of a 'box' with a standard panel filter. Looks more like a cylindrical filter? Is this standard across all phases?
