as title really guys, need to get the wing mirrors off, never done it on a 'modern' car before.

whats the procedure please?Smile

Pull the blanking plates off and unscrew the sxrews and if your posh undo the plugs. simples

tie a piece of string to it and the other end to a door, then slam the door Smile

fatlapit is correct. ill warn you now youll loose your outside temp sensor if you replace your wingmirrors for non stanny ones.

you can remove the sensor its located in the left mirror (little bump on underside) and refit it to your new mirrors. its a just a thermistor and has no "polarity"

lol the last two suggestions are probably the method i'd take lol so thought id ask before i attack them like a cave man with a bit of wood.

spraying my black plastics gloss black so they'll be going back on after.

Too much effort - park down a side street off Gloucester Road and wait for someone else to do it for you. They're very obliging like that round these here parts.
