My 306 has just started to knock on start up and when its turned off, would I be right in suspecting engine mount? noticed that its a bit soft as it is, just been lowered and think it may have finished it off. Probly a problem with the top engine mount. Whip off the support arm and have a look. Failing that, go to a garage and get it on the ramp and check the others using a pry bar. My guess is the chassis has a crack in it or the driveshaft mount its split.________________________________________ See the sheer power and might of the lesser known burrowing owl. |

starting to confuse me this now. took mount off and everything other day and not cracked so happy about that but started to when its running and sat still. cant get it to do it when the engine is off and wont do it when im driving and letting off heavy which would of thought it would. any ideas?________________________________________ www.eastcoastmodified.orgE46 318i tourer SE - Dog Car/Work horse 306 Gti - Track Project |

Check the other mounts, if the chassis wasn't cracked and you tightened enough when re-fitting it, it won't be that mount. Could be either of the other 2 though.________________________________________ See the sheer power and might of the lesser known burrowing owl. |
