I have been cleaning the engine bay up a bit, and when i took the manifold off there is a grey plug with two eletrical connectors inside it, when i started the car up it started to melt and smoked a bit LOL

It's on the back of the throttle body here is the pic if you can see what i'm on about...

Can you tell me what the part is ect and whether it's drivable wothout for a bit...

Thanks for the quick reply Smile

Ah right, mine burnt out for some reason then

the car is going from idle for a bit then changes to a bit higher revs.

this will effect the ecu or something will it?

I had mine plugged into the reverse light cable/plug.

If the air temp sensor doesn't work it can't tell the Ecu how thin or dense the air coming into the engine is. In turn it won't know how much fuel to add so it won't run efficiently.

They are easy enough to replace Thumbs up

True but I wouldn't of know anything was a matter with mine if the reverse lights had been working.
It went well and wasnt over keen on fuel.
But I did notice every now and again it felt a bit lethargic compared to other times but that's something I've noticed with every car I've driven nearly.

I've noticed with the 6 when the inlet mani is hot due to heat soak it feels sluggish until you get going. Obviously that's due to high inlet temps in turn the engine runs lean.

Mine might have ran better in reverse, with the reverse switch cable plugged into it and the air temp sensor cable plugged into the gearboxLOL
