Got all the way to the beach today to go on the arcades etc. put it in reverse to get into a space and.. No gears.

The linkage to the gearbox selector separated so the bush is still attached to the selector but the linkage and metal ring is just hanging there.

Had to call out recovery as I had nothing to bodge it with he managed to cable tie it back together which got me to Webster's parents house.

Only drove that car as the lcr was low on fuel.

What a gay thing to break down for.

a friend had exactly that on his 405 last week, could get 3rd and 4th ok, smelly clutch but got home just fine.

lol had this one in an old 1.9D 306

infront of about 20 people going into vue inverness i had to mount a large curb in 3rd gear and drive straight on as i couldnt get reverse, que lots of pointing and laughing LOL

Ha! I had the gearstick snap off in my hand when sat in neutral at some traffic lights in rush hour. Nightmare! Thankfully I managed to remember a screwdriver in the boot and used that to shift with instead for a few days!

my DT is a freak of nature..... only had radiator and altinator done to it!!
other than the usuall...tyres, bulbs, wheel barrings.... fab car.....Smile had it 10years....
