Ok just about to whip the head off but the haynes manual says remove the cam covers and spray bars, Do the spray bars need to be removed and if so how??

Secondly and most importantly the haynes manual says remove the head bolts of a spiral starting from the outside working in but which side do i start on 1st and do i do the 2 on one side, then 2 on the other side, then back to the other side etc etc or do i do one on one side, the one on the other Anyone got a idiot proof drawwing with arrows asap??

I have done a search but i can find much and im in a blind panic to get it off before dark. Thanks.

Spray bars just pull out, it's just a little o-ring holding them in.

Spiral the head bolts from either side first, 2 from one side then the other etc etc. just crack them all off first then go round and loosen them.
I'm sure there must be a guide in the F&Q.

Al

bit of a waste taking the head off really unless its leaking, don't forget new bolts, and if you get the ones with captive washers you don't need to use the original washers.

Well i wana do the gasket while the engine out but i don't think it needs it. but i want to do it because i found a few receipts and apparently the engine has had new pistons and lots of head work. After taking off the inlet manifold, it looks like its had work done but i want to know if its decently got forged pistons etc.
