Hi
bare with me as this is my first thread, this is the 2nd gti 6 that i have owned, i had a stripped silver gti 6 with wrap around bucket seats and harnesses which i had when i was 18 i had this on the road up untill 8 months ago.i have recently brought a white rallye, seeing as there is only 200 made i thought id snap it up as it was my 19th birthday i wanted to treat my self Smile
people may have seen this forsale on ebay- i offered him some cash and he accepted my offer so i picked the car up on sunday afternoon.

i am looking to keep the car as standard as possible as i do not want to de vaule it as it may become a future classic,
spec of the car so far is pritty much standard
spec- rallye shell 111000 had cambelt and water pump 2000 miles ago
previous owner fitted springs and lowered the beam on the back around 40mm
oz wheels- will be forsale soon ! as there not my cup of tea
a very large scooby style jap can!

plan for the car are -

compomotive wheels/cyclones for road use- will be on the hunt for some citreon c5 wheels for track use as i am only 20 mins from castle combe.
New exhaust as this is rather large and doesnt suit the car
will be keeping the interior as its good condition just needs a clean up, nothing that i decent shampoo machine cant do
will be up rating the suspension, with coilovers and new dampers on the rear, i expect i will rebuild the rear beam when i have time from college.
the car will be having a few touch ups on the paint job, as i close friends dad owns body shop locally and is very well priced so i will be taking it there for bit of a touch up.

will keep this updated with pictures and other little mods that i do along the way Smile
hopefully the weather will brighten up and i will crack on with some progress
hunted round a few scrap yards for some citreon c5 wheels nothing just yet but not going to give up Smile

LOTS OF PICTURES- THREAD

The exhaust is going, looking at also getting rid of the ozs so will pm you
Brought the ramp/lift from eBay picked it up
From Newport
Best bit of kit I've bought so far, safe and secure and great when folded away
Would highly recommend it, when the weather is better I hope I can use it a bit more

Plans are to change exhaust for magnex this week
Fit decat
Hopefully change wheels
Look for a decent suspension set up? Need to keep a look out on the forsale section also not sure what to get
Will try keep this updated as much as I can when the sodding Rain stops

Also people buying the ramp/jack
Make sure you measure the car as the one I have is the standard width apose to the 3 in 1 as the width adjustments are too narrow, I brought this one as I can use it for my car and fits perfect!

Just a little update, got a few pictures to put up
Fitted new drop links as I recently heard a knocking noise turnt out that the precious owner had Bodged them up for mot with washers to stop them wobbling defeating the object completely!
Waiting for exhaust to arrive have ordered a magnex and will be running it straight through
Next will be wheels, not sure wether to get white mo6s still un decided
Also will be on the hunt for a decent set of coilovers! Hopefully should be done by the Combe action day as I may do some track time, depending on parts and spaces avalible
