So with the sad Cry departure of my 405 Le Mans, I was tasked by the Mrs to go and get a sensible second car. With a GTI-6 as a the weekend (ish) car, the premise was; 4 door, good on fuel, nippy, practical and under a grand.

However a friend of a friend had this...

One out of five ain't bad. Well under a grand, long tax, nearly years MOT and a peach to drive. The Mrs thinks I'm an idiot LOL

There's time to grow up yet...Big grin

My Le Mans had done 150K, getting thirsty on oil, hole about 2ft long in chassis leg, windscreen needed replacing, clutch on its way, front bushes and 4 tyres. Not really viable to fix it unfortunately.

20,000 relatively trouble free miles though.

Besides, I live for the 306 LOL

I do love a nice Le mans 405, there was one on ebay a while ago about 5 mile from my house, looked like it was sat in a garden looking sorry for itself, i'd never seen it before, i was going to rescue it, but i forgot to bid on it.

Mine was tidier than that one bodywise but needed lots of expensive bits. Gutted to let it go but wife, baby, house and a '6 are bleeding me dry.LOL
