Hi guys, been having a little problem with the car for the last week. Car seems to hesitate on occassion whilst accelarating. For a second then is normal for a bit, then will do it again and it seems to be getting worse Sad car has also stalled a couple of times as well. I have a new map sensor to gfit and fuel filer but just wondering if someone else has had similar problems or can point me in the right direction? Car is no mis firing and drives fine other than the hesitation and it idles fine?? Sorry for the text, I'm on phone and can't space it properly LOL cheers for any help guys Smile

The genuine one is made by Bosch, boxed up in a Pug box and will cost you near to £140 these days. You are better off to go a factors and ask for a Bosch one and you will get an identical piece of kit but without the over-inflated price from Pug. Yes

I agree with what has been said, however try fitting the map sensor first. I had exactly the same symptoms as you and it turned out to be that.

Cheers guys Thumbs up

I have just got home now and just fitted the new map sensor and done a reset so will give that a whirl and see how she drives on the way to work tomorrow Smile

Would go out tonight but it's cold, dark and wet and petrol is another factor to consider LOL

If no change, then I will grap the Lambda sensor from ECP which is just round the corner from work and try that tomorrow Smile

Why is a Bosch wideband lambda much cheaper than the standard narrow band one?

I'm not sure Andy, I've never checked the price of a wide band one, even though I have one. LOL

I would have said throttle position sensor over lambda tbh Wink
Especially as he's not mentioned a huge increase in fuel bills.

Andy - maybe more cars use them now! There aren't exactly many different types of lambda, just different plugs!

Easy way to find out.

Disconnect the lambda and go for a drive. If the issue is loads better you need a new lambda. Don't just leave it unplugged though and think the problem is solved as this will use more fuel and will ruin a CAT if you have one and run like this long-term...Yes

It could also be the wiring to the throttle position sensor too - check the pins are in the plug properly.

Stan, do you use only the wideband lambda or do you have both wide and narrow fitted?

Yes it would seem so, drive home and still fine so looks to be ok now Smile

I have already ordered the lambda from ECP which is sitting on thier shelf ready for me to collect!
I might not need it now but might just get it anyway as it's not too bad for a P1 Lambda @ £58
Spares are always good LOL
