my car (1998 gti-6) just failed its MOT on nearside front suspention has excessive play in lower suspension ball joint [2.5.b.1a]

I'm looking at the lemforder lower wishbone ball joints on euro car parts right now (http://www.eurocarparts.com/suspension-arm-and-suspension-joints# )

but I don't know which ones are the correct ones? there seems to be 3 different ones listed all 'suitable'


I've read about people buying ball joints and wacking out the suspension due to being given the wrong size/wrong part - something to do with 16mm vs 18mm?

anyone got the correct part number!?!?!?!?
