I've got a DTurbo for a run around and I need to change the rear beam
exsisting rear beam-drums(non ABS) with a brake compensator
thinking of upgrading to a GTi6 rear beam(complete with-discs,ABS,
brake compensator and handbrake cables)ready to bolt on
Is it a straight swop?
Fit rear beam connect up exsisting brake pipes to brake
compensator
Will it be O.K without connecting the ABS

Cant see why not, It will only be the sensors that are not wired in.

I did this on my old dturbo years ago put a complete gti axle on it however mine didn't have a compensator on as standard so couldn't be arsed plumbing in the gti one properly lol. Everything is a straight swap over obv you need gti handbrake cables etc. if you don't plumb in the compensator be prepared for the rear to try to overtake he front in the wet under hard braking. Easily counter steered if your expecting it Wink. However not advisable lol.

And yeh just cut the sensor wires off if there not needed Wink.

Yes,I've had that happen
for some reason the brake compensator
wasn't working(got it changed)thou
dual carriagway lights on green
outside lane 3rd car in line
lights started to change(amber)
1st car braked
2nd car braked hard
I jumped on my brake pedal and
ended up sideway across the 2 lanes
no bumps thou
If I hadn't gone sideways I would have
run into the 2nd car
