Looking to make a Hybrid box to suit my driving style are all gears from a VTS,GTI6,and 205 gti 1.6 boxes all interchangeable my ideal box would be 3.31 ,1.88 from 205 1.6 gti box 1.28 from Xasra VTS box 1.07 from 205 1.6 gti 0.95 from gti6 box and 0.74 from Xasra vts box with a diff off gti6 4.05

This would give me

1st gear 38 mph
2nd gear 67 mph
3rd gear 98 mph
4th gear 117 mph
5th gear 132 mph
6th gear 169 mph all at 7500 rpm

Is the above possible ? If it is i will need fully working non crunching Xasra vts and Gti6 gearboxes if anyone has them please let me know price etc
Also your views opinions advice on this Hybrid Box

Thought this thread was about transsexuals, was disappointed. 1/10, would not recommend.

5 speed gear sets don't fit in the 6 speed box, and vice versa.

If you want to build a box with custom ratios then it will have to be a 5 speed box, using gearsets from 5 speed boxes and with a final drive ratio from a 5 speed box.

Dont forget that later xsara boxes are BE4 and will have different 3/4 gear cluster.

also 3/4 must be changed as a matching set as its one piece.

probably the best set would be 1.9 on 4.4, xsara vts or MI16,

Could i get gears made to spec for the GTI 6 box and what would it cost approximatly ?Also are the HDI/Diesel gears interchangeable and what are their ratios ?I got a exel spreadsheet giving me most of the gear ratios but not those off a HDI/Diesel boxes other than a 205 grd.

you can buy stuff for the gti6 boxes, but its not cheap.

http://www.bacciromano.com/

seems they list dog engagement only, but they do sell final drives for standard gearsets,

Is there anyone who will makes gears maybe a enginering firm that could cut the gears for me or make them to spec otherwise i may ditch the GTI6 box and go for a 205 GRD box with a final drive off a 205 1.6 gti box of 4.06 giving me a better top speed in 5th than the gti6's 6th and with less gear changes with the advantage of haveing full lock. Are the 205 GRD Box and the 205 1.6 gti final drives interchangeable ?

that'd be horrible to drive, massive gaps between them and way too long in 5th.

5th would be for high speed motorway driving/cruising.

Yes it's easy to get's gears machined up but it's cheaper to buy a kit, by the time you make drawings up and set up.
But Every Be1, BE3, BE4 box uses machined gears on the input shaft on 1 & 2, them 3 & 4 on the output are a matched pair and then varies on shaft dia and spline type.
You also get some other little differences too

What are the ratios for the phase 1 gti6 box or is it just the final drive thats different ie late box phase 2/3 final drive 4.05
phase 1 final drive 3.95?
