I may replace my steering rack soon as mine feels very loose.

Whats everyones thoughts on this? We all know these are pretty much identical parts apart from the gearing so why the chunky cost difference? Is this just eurocarparts cynically charging more for a part they consider they will be selling more of or am i missing something?

***** me that's expensive for a cheap'o' recon rack, I'd try Pug as you maybe surprised and I know on the 205 recon rack's they did the difference in feel was huge
Mind all they normally do is change the boots and that's it, even get S/H Arms
DIY, arms are around £20.00 each, Boot kit £25.00 and job done

Is a 51 plate early phase 2 rack a 2.6 turn or 2.4?

Still better than the gti6 one though?
Maybe I'd prefer this, it's more responsive than the standard one but maybe not over the top?
Plus the newer cars racks will be in better condition I would of thought.

They all fit regardless though right? Ideally sourcing the earlier racks with least turns lock to lock?
