Just wait till enough people like you are running on gas! Do you really think the tax on it will stay the same? Look at the increase in the past few years alone. Remember when the government was telling us all to get diesel cars? Back when diesel was p*ss cheap and now look at it.

If it sounds to good to be true......

Don't f*cking talk to me about fuel...........

Before you know it you'll be paying £1.50 for the f*cking stuff, it boils my f*cking blood the amount of money our government makes on it!

The price is just f*cking nuts! Petrol used to be the same price as LPG...........really p*sses me off.

That's my twopence, i'm sure when i worked actually dispensing the stuff a few years ago it was 49.9p !

Just got a pack of Smarties and there were no blues in

Apologies i'm the most mild mannered chap but i absolutely despise the fuel issues we have.
Wouldn't be so bad if we still exported as much as we used to do, making us a richer country.

That's a lot of money to spend on a 6 no matter how much it saves you .

To mirror an earlier post i would rather it put the money aside for an sc conversion.

PLUS

You can't be a petrol head if your buzzing gas instead.

You send a meatspin link to the DVLA I guess.

Admin Shut up no linky no banny.

As echo'd I wouldn't bother. When Micnic had his ~6 years ago possible savings etc but now Unsure. Suppose it'll keep Carl C in business for a while.

Presumably because his car is in the bracket of tax determined by the emission levels, a reduction could be noted and therefore be put in to a reduced band.

Or some 'green' levy perhaps.

correct. The joys of owning a late 6 Smile I'll keep you all updated. Will be completed by pugfest. Its a no braineq! I know it could go towards sc but logic would be lpg save £1k a year then if i want sc get the lpg sc conversion. Wont cost me anything then. Tbh savings Will be put towards marriage and a mortgage Smile

On top of this, I have had confirmation that because my car was registered after on or after March 2001 (Y reg), I will be able to claim 10%-20% back on my car tax which is currently £260 a year. That saves me a further £40 roughly!

Lols... If your car was slightly older you'd save the 10-20% anyway... LOL

Because LPG doesn't give the same power output as running on fuel. Its not bad but its not as good. Why would you go to the expense of converting to an SC setup then run it on gas and not make the most of it. Same with guys running CATs with the system. People have shelled out a lot of money and not getting the best returns for their investments. Yes

Good luck with this mate, just don't think its economically viable for a 306 really. My brother has an LPG conversion in his Alfa 147 2.0. On petrol his is roughly the same as my Rallye around town, about 27-28 MPG. Switch it to gas however and he usually averages around 18-20. And that's driving carefully.

Hoot it around a bit and it drops to 15-16. He usually gets about 100-110 miles to £20 which is at 69p a litre. About 25 more miles than he would on petrol. So he is saving a few quid.

Performance wise, I really don't notice any difference at all. Still has plenty of torque too (feels more than the Rallye).
