I see the practise of hiding filthy vids behind dodgy links has started again! how long till one man one jar appears again? and anyone else who reads this... come on have some consideration for the "family" members and people at work just stop doing this crap it is beneath most members on here have some respect for people who may have kids in their homes! or should we censor this forum and make it clear that it is only for adult viewing?

this sort of juvenile crap really p*sses me off! (as do most things in life right now ) [rant over/]

you can watch what the f*ck you like if that's what floats your boat ... the point is that i do not want to have to check every link before clicking on it only to find it is some freaky crap totally unsuitable for kids who may be just behind me at the time which has happened before this is an argument i have had before on here! i think anyone who tries to misdirect should be warned and then banned! call me a c*nt if you want!

Fair comment. Must admit I didn't give the thought of children overseeing it on a members PC.

I'l edit the link I added earlier. Apologies Chris.

    Indeed.

I've tidied that thread up and hopefully with other admin online it's more likely things like this will be resolved faster.

Chris, just look in the bottom left hand corner when you hover over the link. Use FireFox if ie won't do it.

Not hard to either not click a link or wait until the children are not in the room before you do click it, is it?

It's been tolerated for years, its a bit of fun, the "ah f*ck thug caught me with a meatspin" feeling.

    Yes

f*ck me if people are so concerned then don't open the links at work and don't do it when the children are around. If they are too young for meatspin they should be in bed by 19:30 anyway.

i use chrome and you are absolutely correct! i can hover over the link and see what it reveals for sure and i do!
I'll just STFU ! you true lads carry on and post what the hell you want; it is a simple choice not to click on links! And yeah i can always wait until the kids are not around / in bed or whatever.
    >> Rikky>> Meat-spin master! i have never been into censorship! that is not what i am saying! I just hope non of these victims have kids in the background when they are being misdirected. As sad as i am; this is the only forum i frequent; does this stuff go on on other forums?

And Jim... paedophilia was tolerated for years within the church; does that make it any more acceptable?

Oh and i am no fool; i do watch what i click on! especially after the "one man one jar" episode and without wanting to sound over moralistic or judgemental should is this kind of behaviour really be tolerated?
if all you guys want to do is get people with a meat-spin then i am definitely in the wrong place as i thought this place was about witty banter and the 306?

FML i've turned into my father Sad

I was misled into a meatspin link a few years ago and was just as angry as Grumpychef. In my case I couldn't shut it down. It really isn't funny and I'm 100% sure it should be stopped. Those people who do it should be warned once then banned.
I really don't care whether people watch this kind of stuff but I object to having to treat the forum as if it were a minefield.
Labelled NSFW -go ahead if you want set as a booby trap-just pathetic and malicious.

Well said Chris. Juvenile is definitely the word.

And before anyone else jumps in with the "oh lighten up" comments, remember that most search engines classify websites not just by their own content but also by the sites they link to.

Ash has already pointed out that we've been black listed by Google once. We do not want a repeat of that.

We'll probably never agree about the social networking value of the site, but surely you can see that anything that ruins the site for others or prevents its being listed on search engines is completely counter produtive.

From now on any hardcore links like this will be removed and the poster permanently (and I don't mean "until we get over it") banned.

Kev - on this note there are a couple of things that can be done to prevent this. Firstly, the "nofollow" attribute in the hyperlink tells search engines not to bother associating you with the link, for exactly this kind of situation. So rather than:

    <a href="mygrotsite.com">My grot site</a>

    You have

    <a href="mygrotsite.com" rel="nofollow">My grot site</a>

Search providers can obviously do what they like, but it's a hint to them that you're not associated with them, intended for use on forums exactly like this. It'd be a pretty easy change for Ash to add that in for all links (in the Comedy and Offtopic sections only).

The other thing to do (which requires a small amount of work) is first to change the hyperlinks so they have the forum name in the URL, so they'd look like this:

    http://www.306gti6.com/offtopic/post.php?id=8239123

You can then just create a basic text file in the web root called robots.txt and add this:

    User-agent: *
    Disallow: /offtopic/

And that tells search engines to ignore completely anything it finds in the Offtopic section of your site. It won't bother indexing it so you won't get blacklisted, yet it'll still search all other pages and info on the site.

Just thought I'd point that out, could be good for the search rankings.

True, but not everything you don't want associating with is "unsuitable" - it could just be a link to a site with an article, which happens to get hacked, for instance. Google can then blacklist "associated" sites as well. It's basically for severing a connection with any site with which you don't have control.

It's not just for porn, unlike OldBrownShoe.

Luckily your shower is an over the bath unit. So we could only see the top of your waist and above.
