update:

got the engine flush ran through and oil changed and so far tapping has vastly improved only does it 1st thing in a morning now for a few secs then clears, still need to change again for good quality oil so should stop altogether after doing that Smile

My rallye taps for a split second first thing then clears its self just but then my rallye does sit for a few days at a time Yes

yeah looking good anyway, to be honest iv'e been thinking about selling up as it's my daily driver for work i want something newer and cheaper to run, is it to the point now with these cars that it'll pay me more back to break or is there any one on here that might be interested in keeping it alive??

There's no reason why it should be reliable if you look after it, I've done 20k since I've bought mine and its cost pennies.

Oddly I have a lazy lifter stan. Sounds exactly like my old tapper but goes away after a very short time. Mine normally starts to make more noise when the oil 7k miles old so I normally change every 6. As said though, your issue is deffinatly not a valve. My old 6 had shoddy valves and tapped the moment you switched it on to the moment you switched it off. Smile

keep it or sell it. Sont break it man, yes you'll probly a little more cash that way but it surely aint worth the trouble. Someone wil buy it. Smile
