Hi Guys,

In the process of removing my dash and just about there, but now kinda stuck on the main loom connector. On the FAQ it just says disconnect it, but mine seems to be done in a way that it looks like its not meant to be disconnected.

Is everyones like this?

Now in the process of disconnecting all the parts to it in an attempt to remove it.

Any help/advice appreciated Smile

is that the corner bit near the wiper motor? if so, there's a little torx screw which is visible under a plastic grommet [from the outside] whch you need to unscrew, then from memory both sides [interior and outside] just prize apart

Yes Rikky, but the pic is taken from inside the car. I have removed the bit you said (and broke the plastic housing when trying to open it) Doh

So the bit in this pic does seperate from the other side?

Yes, it's basically a big plug which attaches to the outside part Yes

Very sensible. As Rikky said there's a torx screw from the outside in which holds the two parts together. You need to get quite a long bit down inside to undo it, then the two parts will pull apart.

Beer is better though.

Just been putting mine back in, theres the torx bolt on the outside, then 2 8mm nuts iirc holding the inside loom connector up.

Yes

You can only access the 2 nuts once the external connector has been undone from memory. Smile

In the past mine have been stiff to seperate after the torx bolt is undone, just takes a bit of gentle persuasion to get the engine bay side connector pulled off.

As said; stainless torx bolt undone from outside. Pull the plug off from outside to reveal two 8mm nuts holding the dash side of the plug tight to the bulkhead.

Bit of a bump. Had the same problem when trying to remove the dash from the spare car. I couldn't get the plug to disconnect from the outside, even with the torx undone it was being a PITA to get apart.

Is it simply a case of keep trying or am I missing something?

I could only see one? There's a central hole with a hex plastic cover on it and underneath there was the metal hex bolt

You just need to wiggle it loads, it's a tight seal keepi g the 2 together that's all, once you have a little gap get a flat blade and just leaver it apart
