No supply and demand has done that. Look around at what cars with dents in the rear quater actually sell for

I have made this point many times but non 6 owning twats lurk this site waiting fot there next prey....

Edit: Less supply May equal lesser demand but usually puts up the price on whatever is left :0

Dont you mean I may have PROVED you right. ;0

What you forget is that ive had 6 gti-6's/Rallyes over the last 5 years and enjoyed them immensely.I've only broken ones that were worth breaking and repaired plenty more.

Just because im not blinkered and can see that there are other car makers out there besides the one with a lion on the front doesn't make me Anti 306.

And at least i'm willing to pay membership to keep the forum going (or pay for Capt Ash's lifestlye LOL) unlike you.

Forgot to add that the engine mounts have been done, and it had a new windscreen last year too.

Gotta be worth about £600. Easy. Although I'm open to offers, what you see is what you'll get.

Otherwise it goes on a SORN LOL

****UPDATE****

All was going so well for bennn...... liked the car. It went well etc etc. Smile

Hubby put on a brand new backbox & centre section, plus some rather nice Mintex rear discs and pads.....

Took it for its MOT, and it failed in spectacular fashion...... conrods or big end knocking...... Big grin

SOOO...... thankfully, bennn got off lightly. And publicly, both hubby & I are happy about that (we would have been gutted if something had have happened).

Good luck to bennn finding another GTI though Smile

Which brings me nicely onto my next thought process.......

Is there anybody out there who would like a car as a project? Obviously, no MOT, nor Tax.....
Engine, well, will either need work or replacing the bottom end.

Makes a good option for a track car or project.......

I will probably be removing the discs/pads and exhaust (they only had delivery mileage to the MOT station and back (6miles!) and will sell them separately.
Tempted to flog the wheels/tyres as they're all virtually new.

Same with the door cards (not worn).......

Anybody interested in a project - all offers open.

Due to its current status, it will need to be picked up on trailer.

Thoughts anybody?

No. Only the top was rebuilt. The bottom half at the time was fine.

SO...

If anybody wants a cheap project or track weapon (with a different or repaired engine), this could be a good deal (imho).

Failing that <vultures circling> ask away on parts.
If there's interest, I'll start a proper thread in the relevant section.... or pm me.

Straight off?
wheels/tyres
new exhaust
Mintex pads & discs (rear)
New front windscreen
Rare Phase 1 door cards with NO damage!
ECU etc etc.....

Or the job lot for offers over £350!

Just thought I’d chip in here.

I was pleasantly surprised by the condition of the car. Cosmetically I think the description sells it short.

Dan let me have a go in it and bar the noisy exhaust it seemed to go well and the rest of the car was very tight.

Obviously I was happy with it as I offered to buy it and it’s a real shame it’s not worked out. He’s a really nice guy and I appreciate his honesty. I didn't notice any tapping / knocking so it came as a bit of a surprise to me.

If I had the time / space / know how I’d have it for a project but unfortunately that’s not a possibility.

Well, judging by the condition of them, and the tyres, I would say you're not going to be looking at a huge reduction Laugh

Shame, I love a white 6 and have a soft spot for a phase 1
