What sort of battery do you run with this, plus do you have to put it in a battery box ?

Can run any battery you like. i have a standard on in at the minute but will be changing to an MX5 battery. As long as the battery is secure and not going anywhere than its up to you how you fit it.
heres mine for the minute behind the passenger seat.

if you use a lead acid battery you do need it boxed with a vent outside the cabin, hence why most use a sealed battery.

You can get an MX5 glass matt dry call battery what dont give off any fumes, mine came off my old mk1 MX5 eunos but also get the powervamp race batteries with cage for about £60
