To all those that moan about the Forum being shit, why don't you stop moaning and do something about it? Everytime I come on here someone is always saying how good the old forum was and how its 'shit now'. Ask yourselves this, could you do a better job? 10 odd years is a long time for any forum to run, let alone a single make/model one.

I personally, in the short time I've been on here, have found it useful, informative and full of some interesting characters. Everybody has their own opinions, fair enough but this is an open forum for the benefit of owners of GTI6's/Rallye's. If you still have something to share, fair enough, if not don't make out like your some higher being of days gone by.

Years ago people used to drive cars and fix them. Not sit behind a computer w*nking to porn and moaning about the good old days.

Long live 306gti6.com. Well done to Ash. Anyone else would've told us all to f*ck off by now. Roll eyes

There is little that can be done about it. People like owain for example who never had a bad word to say about the changes, until months passed with error after error, feedback that was ignored and suggestions that were overlooked has now lost patience.

I remember a statement about one change.. ' if it doesn't work, it will go back to the way it was'. After numerous complaints, feedback and suggestion, nothing has changed.

Admin will pop by for 5 minutes a month, look past threads without commenting and go off on a tangent.

As I have mentioned before, the only way it can really change for the good now, is for someone who wants to put the time and effort in, to buy the site.

Ash put a lot of time in, but now can't spend the 5 minutes while on the shutter to log in to see the changes through. I feel it's probably due to the negativity, and a loss of interest, which if is the case, perhaps it is time to move on and leave it to another interested party.

When September comes, the technical section will dry up as I can't see many of the previous paying members renewing. That is when the wake up call will hit home.

cant help that the site is rated obscene on some search engines due to a few compulsive sex addicts on here...Used my sisters computer the other week and it warned me that this site has extreme hard core pornography and abusive language.... Sites worth sod all with that label.

Fair point. I feel that all we can do is make the best of it, there's a good crowd on here and lots of knowledge, worth keeping IMO. Wonder if Ash would sell up?...

    Hard core pornography? Where?

You can't even say f*ck without it getting filtered. Case in point being the biker forum someone mentioned a long while ago.

No one in admin cares about this site, unless its to sell their own car, self locking threads are shit and I'm actually fed up wasting my time coming back on here. It used to be an awesome forum, now it is completely dog egg.

Agreed but at least its still here. The problem isn't really the forum though. Its the fact computers have become more affordable and as such more available to numpty bellends with nothing better to do than spam forums and bash one out.

This forum can be good again. It will simply take time and effort that is all.

I for one am not scared of effort. Wink

Cheers, Stan. It was some of your comments that made me make a bit of a stand. You've been here a long time, I haven't but I think its a good format in general.

Good im glad you made this thread as I have a few words to say.

First of all, I dont care what anyone says, there were no good old days! The forum has been the same since I can remember. People from 02-03 moaning about the good old days when 04 members signed up, then the same again when 06 members signed up etc. Everyone has made some kind of false memory of what the forum used to be like when its not true. Sex addicts? Always been around. Banksey used to supply the porn before Oldbrownshoe, people still called each other c*nts, there were arguments, idiots and stalking when girls joined.

So whats to change exactly? The only thing that cant be helped is old people leaving and new people joining. Thats what people are really upset about, not having threads with members they liked from ages ago like 'Kahn or Kebab Man'. Oh boo hoo...

Whats really happened is everyone is actually sick of each other, like cabin fever but on the internet.

All of this is true and anyone that disagrees is an idiot.

Big grin @ jsoulman. You sir are one of the reasons I liked the look of this forum, some funny threads and pointless (though not at the min) answers make it entertaining. For all the aces in the pack, there needs to be some jokers I say. LOL

I joined up 7 weeks ago and I was instantly put off.

I paid a tenner to join what I thought was the best place to be in 306 world.

The posts I received after just joining were defamatory, adolescent and just shite.

If I had been a wet behind the ears member, I would have just left and never come back. As it is, I have been around forums and 3-0's longer than I care to admit...

This forum is tired and dated and full of haters however, the info accessible on here outweighs that..

    Sad state of affairs

Hang in there fella. For the odd dick that frequents here there's a lot of decent guys and if you wade through the shit its quite a laugh. Unfotunately all forums have idiots. Like you say theres a lot of knowledge and its worth joining up if nothing else for that.

Well you signed up whilst in the middle of a new fad. Thing is, years ago you probs would have just got a simple hello etc, but deep down the rest of the site wouldn't have been much different. Fads come and go, there have been others. Hell when I joined the first time I got hellos, the 2nd a year or so later, if I had said one wrong thing or made a spelling mistake someone would have been down my throat and called me a c*nt.

It proves my point, everyo e is bored, sick of the car, fed up of each other and when someone new comes along, all they can think of doing is ripping it out of them incase it turns into some kind of 'epic thread' as there's nothing left to do...

As you have paid, you will get help if you need it though!

I think there should be more forum meets. That way if people have problems they can twat each other out rather than talking shit to each other. Yes
