This was a post mabz wrote on another thread, this one to be exact. So I thought I would start a new thread rather than ruining Daves.

Ive got someone making a spoiler and interior bits. A proper carbon company in japan.

If you guys were interested i could have words bout any other parys. Get a list goin.. think every forum is sick of the diy boys. No offence dave, sure you would do a cracking job.

So not sure what would come of this and a price so it's a bit of a long short ATM, but hopefully with a rough idea of numbers Mabz can get us a price to work from. I'll set the pace

I may be interested in a spoiler too price dependent,.. or at least seeing how there going to do the mounting points,..
Mab who's this Company and do they have a site to see some of their other carbon work?

the problem is mab that Carbon is more of a style mod and not to everyone's taste's
so getting a massive list will probably be unlikely which will push the price way up,.. Unsure

Can this not just be bonded on? Don't really see a prob with that.

The original spoiler is in two parts, which are stapled together. So they might follow that idea and the top part that you see may only be carbon. Not really sure, maybe mabz can shed some light?

problem is if your doing a cast from the original it will be exactly the original size and wont just slip over,..
not sure if this would work on a ph2 spoiler either,..

carbon laminating would work but you'd have to find a ph3 spoiler for each carbon Spoilers you did,..
or carbon Laminate 1 and build up the size ever so slightly do a cast of that then that may work?

what you want is a way to be able to perfectly mount the screw fixings for full carbon ph3 spoilers,.. possibly modify the design of the ph3 spoiler to suit a ph2 boot hatch and have yourself a nice light weight carbon Spoiler in ph3 design for both ph 2 & 3's Big grin

Like i say i'll look into a Grille 1st then if that works I'll look at doing other bits!
but spoiler looks like a good bet if these hurdles can be got around!

Split a phase 3 spoiler and make two casts, one of the top side and one of the lower, then bond them together. Looked into this last year.

Resin. Epoxy resin sticks like f*ck, just mould the two halves separately and then apply a layer of resin between the two halves.

Failing that, fibreglass works well too.

is that to be bonded or does it have the screw mounts?
and what's the damage on one of those?

Edit nevermind £350,...
f*ck my ass with a broom handle Shock
I just couldn't justfy that on a style mod that does next to f*ck all and is pretty light at the side of other things that can be done in Carbon Fiber,...

It screws in as normal, and you get what you pay for. I brought a cheap carbon product and the finish was shocking. I got my boot lid from these guys and it was amazing quality. And that price is for carbon Kevlar. I need to speak to them about my bonnet soon so will see if they do just carbon for the spoiler.

after looking up the costs of raw Carbon Kevlar Cloth,.. there isn't much price difference so,..
I can't see them doing them that cheap :/

How much are they charging you to do a bonnet?
is it a Ph3 De-badged?
