Just got myself a 205 and can't wait to start my overdue 16v 205 project as common as it is.
I don't really want to just buy and engine, i'd rather buy a car so i can see the engine runs well and feel how well it pulls to save going through all the effort and it been a f*cked engine. Also so i can pinch a few more bits off too.
Anyway so i'm after a rough bodied 6/mot failure/rear end bump/or maybe just a really cheap one. Ideally a completely standard car thats never had head skimmed with less than 100k. I realised that this isn't going to come cheap, i'm not expecting to get people offering me them for a couple hundred quid, cos i've stripped one before and i know what they can make stripped. Anyway i'll be willing to pay a decent price because i'll strip what i have left to get some money back. Anything considered, the closer to York the better

Thanks
Mike

mileage means nothing, mile's still has a 285k example that runs fine, whereas many are f*cked by 80-90k.

you wont make as much as you could have two years ago, too many have been broken and there's nothing special on them apart from engine box and bakes, the rest is the same as any other phase 3 dturbo or xs/xsi.

i know it's all how they have been treated but theres no way to know that without knowing the previous owners so you have to go on something and its more likely that a 90k engine will be in better nick than a 150k engine obviously down to less work (presuming theyv both been treated the same) i have to go on something. I broke one last year for around £750 and it had been rolled and didn't have a straight panel on it and i still have a few bits sat at home. I think iv found one anyway fingers crossed, woman owner for the past ten years, not sure if thats a good thing or not though
