Providing it doesn't go split liability, you can argue to have it repaired even if it goes over the write off value. Insurers never tell you this but it is possible because they have to put you back in the same position as before. I had to do it with my old car and it took a lot of arguing mind Sad

Why people decide to chance insurances for a car worth less than a grand is beyond me.

He hit me on a roundabout so worst case if i get a 50/50 and sell the car for £500 I will be happy ish, I kept my no claims as he did not claim off me (even though he can apparently claim upto six years after the incident)

but they will pull more than £500 back one way or another, how longs left on your premiums?
You only a couple of month into the policy? If so its been known for them to take the rest of the years premium out of the final payout plus the excess.
You may end up owing them aswell as having your car wrote off.

Some guy pulled out of a junction on me the other day and hit my rear quarter very lightly mind but it's left a small dent. He's paying cash to sort it out at the bill of £150 which was quoted from a dent expert.

Really annoying though as he'd stopped at the junction as he should've done but then just decided to pull out Crazy I do my best to keep my motor clean and it just takes one idiot to spoil it Sad

Good luck with yours.

I am getting a company car with my new job next month and cant really justify keeping the 6, one lucky forum user has made me an offer as it stands and I have accepted it.

I will miss it Sad

Mine has been hit in roughly the same place. Still waiting for the 3rd party a "miss umgoukingfddassain" or something

Didn't speak hardly any English and have a feeling they're going to try and deniy liability

The sigma went to its new owner Thursday after nearly six years ,then yesterday it was parked outside my house and someone drove into the back of it, I felt a little like you must have when I heard the crunch,I would have pummelled the little s**t if it wasn't for the fact it was my son in his s**t-box corsa .Thankfully there wasn't much damage at all and she's still looking good.
