I've just checked the coolant level on my car and (as before) it is towards the bottom end of the filler tank. Probably about 1/4 the way up. I filled it up to the max marker about 2 months ago and as I understand the car will naturally find it's own level and blow off any excess, it just seems to me 1/4 is a bit low.

It's done this before and will never drop below 1/4 even if left for months and months, just wanted to check this isn't an sign something should be looked at. Temperature wise the car runs fine, gets up to temp quickly, fans come on when they should in traffic etc.

Hi mate,

I'd recommend looking for a leak even though you said it doesn't drop past that quarter mark. Aside from that, I'd top it up again and carry on motoring. If the cooling system is working correctly and at the right temperatures then there's not a lot to be worried about.

There is a problem with that system. Yes

Mine sits just above a 1/4 way down the header tank and will stay there whether the car is driven or not driven. The fact that the coolant level is changing all the time suggests a minimal leak somewhere. Yes

Stan.
