You get both seats retrimmed with new vinyl, so you don't notice it is slightly different, but get the cloth facings swapped around so driver's becomes passengers and vice versa, which would mean the facings last longer as they are being worn on the other side when getting in and out.

ach its too late, my local peug were no help??

i have a spare set of old Rallye seats, the old vinyl is no use on either driver side seat
passengers side is no use due to it being handed

maybe one day i will use spare passenger side rallye fabric

only got bolster strip done but its probably going to be a slightly different shade
i am sure i will survive, will look 20 times better than old cracked vinyl

to get both seats done would cost a small fortune Yes

will update my project thread with results onces Rallyes back on the road, done a few bits over winter there.

The vinyl costs next to nothing, most of the cost would be labour. You could reduce that by stripping the seats yourself and talking the covers to the upholsterer. I can't see it being a small fortune, but as a proportion of the value of the car...
