My wife's car is a Leon tdi sport, I've noticed that the fuel enconomy on a long motorway drive isn't the best, returns about 40 mpg. That's driving at about 75 if I drop down to about 65 it goes up to about 50mpg
I think this is because the turbo kicks in when I'm doing over 65
What I'm wondering is, if I went up or down (I think it's up a size) then that will increase my speed at lower revs?
Is this correct?
Currently it has 205 55 16 and I was thinking of 205 60 16

Any opinions/advice welcome Thumbs up

The best engine in the world is the vagina, it takes any size piston, its self lubricating, starts with 1 finger, and every 4 weeks does its own oil change. It's just a pity the management system is so fecking temperamental.

Going up to 60 profile on that size would give you an extra 2 MPH for the same RPM.

However to force yourself through the air faster you'll use more fuel regardless.

Leave it on the right size - is it worth it?

Check and double check tyre pressures. Run them at the max recommended amount, i'd imagine about 33psi ish?

My old 406 hdi daily was easily 5mpg better when i ran tyres at 33psi. Book figure was 29 i think.

Wouldn't remap for better economy be a decent option?
