As title, is there anyone with a '6 local to Trowbridge who would be kind enough to let me test my ECU on their car? To rule it out of my running issues, bit of a long shot but you never know.

Yours is supercharged, will that ECU work on a standard car?

Rich tested it intially for me in a non supercharged car, just need it to start and idle to rule it out, obviously wouldn't be put under load or redlined! Spoken to Nick now though and he thinks it is very unlikely the chip is faulty as it tends to be all or nothing. Car is doing my swede! Rebuilt head, new cambelt, water pump etc etc and it has had nothing but problems since the new engine went in!

Rob,

Did you want me to send you another L/B ECU to try?

I have one here if so, although not sure when the Post Office is open over Christmas.

Cheers
Rich

Cheers gents, Rich unless you have any other ideas that could be useful if you don't mind. Guys at Lynx have checked for air leaks, only thing that came up on diagnostics was the MAP reading high and the lambda being slow, new MAP and unplugged lambda make no difference, and every now and again it randomly starts misfiring badly then disappears after being left for a while. arigti6 the car is in a bit of an embarrassing state at the moment! As soon as it's sorted you're more than welcome to come along for a ride Smile

If you PM me your address i'll get one sent out - it will at least eliminate it from the fault finding process.

Smile

It is back to starting again, but only after 10 or so turns on the starter, then it will not idle when cold, and doesn't like idling when warm. So it is a pig to drive! Then to make it even better there is an odd noise that Nick has never hear before coming from my rebuilt head, doesn't sound like a tapper and makes a nasty vibratey kind of noise around 2k like a heatshield but actually coming from the engine. Sometimes, it hesitates when warm aswell and I'm only getting 20mpg even whilst pootling.
