I've some pictures buried somewhere of the dash bar, a pillars and the cutouts for the rear hoop stays. They'd be fine if you didn't mind being able to get your arm between the a-pillar and roof, welding an extra 2 inches on the decorative tube that was for the dashboard and didn't mind welding a 10mm gap where the rear hoop stays had been profiled about 30* out from where they should be.

This is why I won't fit any CC cages any more, if you want one you have mine LOL
Daveyboy did take his car there so they could alter the cages to get the fit back right, but I think he still had issues with the dashbar and other parts.

small update:

interior has been stripped out so I can fit my satchshift. I am going to move my brake and fuel lines as I have never been happy with them. also started making up a new wiring loom for the car

i'm hoping the satchshift will miss the relays but if it doesn't i'll just have to mount the relay board behind rather than in front

managed to get my russian guy top mounts fitted to my ohlins so they are ready to be fitted. still not sure on the springs fitted to them but i will have to see what happens when they are on, they are 15" length springs Crazy

also been having a play with the brakes again Whistle picked up two pairs of ap racing 320x25mm rotors, the PCD is 210mm on them so using a deeper bell i can space them back without any balljoint issues. also only weigh around 3.5kg so whole setup would be just under 8kg with the 6 pots i have.

fingers crossed more updates to follow over the next two weeks

Nice work! I'm creating my own wiring loom for my car as well, bit slow but much easier in the end Smile

Also planning on getting a Satchshift, only heard good things

Wouldn't worry about it, I'm up to two years of wiring now on the buggy, so you're still faster than my efforts Big grin

Nice update. Thumbs up

My wiring loom took ages to make too. Well worth it though when its finished and is routed how you want it.
I still havent fitted my satchshift boot on my setup as it looks like a bit of a nightmare to get in with a drill for the two mounting holes.

Nice update on the brakes too, are they 15" wheels? I reckon i could have gone up to 315mm rotors with mine but opted for a slight gap between my calipers and wheel, i didnt have to fettle the calipers on mine. Now i'm not using the standard balljoints i could have spaced the rotors much further back and could probably go for 320mm like yours much easier. Smile

thanks for the comments guys Smile the brakes are under 15" wheels yes

weather was good yesterday so did get satchshift bolted in place. just need to find the courage to drill the first hole in the bulkhead now and switch the arm on the gearbox. have a good idea where to drill looking at the pictures on here but its not something i'm looking forward to!

today i will be lowering the fuel tank and taking off the swirl pot and 044 pump so i can redo the lines that go underneath at the back

this is the only picture i got of yesterdays work before the battery went in my phone Sad

Does the Satchshift still have a bar in the exhaust tunnel or does it all go through the bulkhead?

took some brave pills and i made a hole in the bulkhead for the satchshift. i had a rough idea where it should be and i don't think i'm far off at all

you can see the threaded part of the rose joint i was aiming for so i'm happy with that Big grin will go back down the garage later this morning and try to get the bar through and fitted.

also put my newer rich_w fuel swirl pot on with my 044 pump, looks a lot better under there now than previous attempts

didn't get chance to get down the garage over the weekend due to the bad weather so went back down on monday morning to sort the bulkhead hole for the satchshift.

it still needs a bit of trimming to tidy it up but its working

once the boot and plastic guide were fitted the whole thing felt alot better Yes bit of adjustment of the rods and it will be spot on

also picked up another eBay bargain last week, a pair of motordrive bucket seats still in date and barely used Big grin

awesome Geoff, any chance you could measure from the bottom surface of the subframe to the middle of the hole? to from the seam above the hole down? cheers! Big grin

all these measurements are rough at best but should out you in the right area.

A: bottom surface of the subframe to the middle of the hole = 25cm

B: from the seam above the hole going downwards = 10cm

C: distance inwards from the edge = 6cm

(measurements edited from mm to cm)

    Thanks Damien Smile

the catch tank has been moved to make room for my dta s60 ecu

not the great bracket in the world but it will do for now, i have a velcro strap to go round it somewhere

i have fitted the 25.4mm master cylinder from a VW T4 as fitted by devere and demondriverdan. i decided to go for the 4 port non ABS version. plugged two holes up and was able to use my current brake lines without having to mess about the brake reservoir clearances. my new fire extinguisher also arrived today so will try and get that fitted over the next few days. the one i had was bought back in 2008 Whistle
