I would like to put myself forward

I feel I have a lot to offer, the main points being
A, I have no real friends and spend most of my time online
B, I have little or no life experience
C, I have killed may 306 gti6s so know very little about fixing them (I can take them apart but can't put them back together)
D, I'm fascist so hate everybody equally

Yeah I suggested him as he's unbiased and very well respected, I imagine, by many.

+1 for Paul. i agree with everyones opinion that it should be impartial people; i haven't seen him argue with anyone, he seems fair and is always online.

...oh and he drives a china Thumbs up

so is this going to be like the calendar where people put their name forward and then there is a vote, or is it only Ash who decides?

Perhaps we should arrange a whip around for the old Admins and get them a leaving present. Maybe a 2012 Calendar each..

Nope you should just stop buying off the cheapest person rather than someone you can rely on.

Rikky ftw! Also Bobsheavyoil is worthy I feel.

What about Oldbrownshoe? A new smut section and any suggestion that that these women are degrading themselves dealt with by means of an immediate ban.

Roll eyes I would happily do it but seeing as a high level membership is one of the requirements to be a good admin I dont think I'd suit the role.

Most of the people that have put themselves forward would do a good job Imo. I agree with Owain that I cant see why the person needs to be knowledgeable when it comes to the tech stuff, all the forum needs is admin that will be online at least once a day, take an openminded view to all the arguing and is consistent with the way they deal with things. A few names mentioned are obviously going to take a biased view when it involves someone they know just like they do in every other argument.

If I was to nominate someone it would be Rich E.

Check me and Ryan out agreeing on stuff! LOL

Personally I don't see a problem with making anyone a mod who wants to be, and has been here a reasonable amount of time. They're moderators, not admins - so it's not like they can (I hope...) go mental, delete Ash's account and ban everyone at the same time. If someone's a mod and they don't do a good job, it can be taken away from them.

As we've seen, it's all about having eyes on as soon as possible to stop trolls and spammers. Surely it's better to just have more mods? Appointing one isn't going to make any difference. We need to remember that mods aren't there to stop arguments, or to make sure people agree with their opinion - they're there to make sure the forum is kept clean, tidy, and that people stick to the rules.

A bit like a Government is meant to be, in theory.

Yes correct, although it would seem a bit odd to me to have a mod who has instigated or taken part in arguments/flamings/thread spamming in the past. That's why I personally reckon it needs to be members who are respected by the majority and who haven't engaged in constant bickering and the like.
